Last week was Zach's first swimming lesson. He is going every Sunday with Trent to get used to being in water and hopefully begin facilitating a love/ appreciation that will serve him for the rest of his life. And as usual Zach just chilled - I went a little snap happy, but thought you'd appreciate it as much as us mums enjoyed it on the sidelines. Ava & Jake are also in this class which means a good natter for us.
Last week's lesson aimed to get the kids used to being in the pool, while this Sunday included immersing them briefly and helping them feel safe - Zach was a little surprised with the dunking but seemed fine when he realised that Dad was there to give him a big hug (how could you not feel safe in those arms!) Trent is also enjoying the one-on-one time apart from the odd kick to the nose.
We have started classes at Gymboree on Thursdays which is an interactive class for mums/ helpers and bubs with music, exercises and lots of fun equipment. It's as much for us as it is for the kids - interaction with others and some ideas of how to keep entertaining our little ones in tiny flats. The mirror on the floor was a hit with all the kids while doing their tummy time. Zach has good head control and is tracking with his eyes well, but he's still building his arm and back strength so used a bolster for most of the activity. He has also mastered some impressive drool which takes on completely different proportions when reflected back! The bubble blower and parachute were also big hits, so looking forward to going back this week.
Other than that, its been the usual Pilates, lunches, and time with small people. Dim Sum on Saturday gave us the perfect opportunity to dress up the little guy - after all Roger hadn't met our superman before!
That's it from us at the moment,
lots of love
Nik, Trent & Zachary
Will Zach be ready for London Olympics ?
